The Animatronic

A killer guide by jagerzgoober

The power

Springtrap has two main powers his doors, and his axe. These can give you advantages in different situations.

AXE: Springtraps axe can be thrown in the middle of your screen and will become lodged either into a survivor or the environment.

  • When lodged into a survivor you can see the aura of the axe itself as long as the survivor is not trying to actively remove it. During this time you will have to wait on a cooldown from your axe, after the cool down you can recall the axe, unless the survivor removes it themselves. Keeping the axe in the survivor can have some advantages if you have addons tied to it or want to see the aura of the axe.

  • When lodged into the environment the axe will have a temporary orb form around it, when a survivor walks into this it will detect them via killer instinct, this can work even if the survivor is in a locker. Some addons can be tied to this also and give you and or survivors buffs while you are inside or passing through the orb.

Side Note: The axe is a lot heavier and falls harder so it can not travel as far.

DOORS: Doors will spawn around the map usually close to generators, survivors and the killer can use these doors however survivors only have a limited power supply for the doors.

  • Survivors can use the doors to look at the cameras of each door and look around or reveal the killer showing all survivors the killers aura which will cause the killer to hear a static sound. They can also go through the doors if they would like to a connecting door.

  • The Killer can use the door to go around the map also, but does not have usage of the cameras.

Side Note: When someone is passing through the door it will make the mini screen on the corresponding door flicker (the one being traveled from, and to). If both the killer and a survivor use the door at the same time the killer will grab them automatically.

Tips

  • Practice your axe aim as much as possible!
  • Try out the "Help Wanted Ad" Addon so you can view where the axe trajectory
  • Learn to predict survivors movement better, or use aura reading
  • Throw your axe at survivors when they are stuck in animation (vaulting windows, pallets, or dropping pallets)
  • Rotate through doors to generators after every single hook unless survivors are near you
